Document, internment by Erhard (Geoff) Gohl
The Gohl family (parents, a girl & three boys) were transported from Palestine in 1941 & interned in Camp 3. One boy died in the camp & is buried in the German War Cemetery. The Gohls were the first family to be released as the father obtained employment with a former internee named Sims, who had an export business in Sydney. Hans - Wolter von Gruenewaldt, German P.O.W (Ex South African - Mining engineer) painted these scenes and figures as murals on the walls of the Camp 13 Recreational hall. After WW2 the hall was purchased by the Murchison R.S.L as its headquarters in 1955.
