Mr Donald "Dosh" McLennan was a well-known Highland piper in the Colac district. He was honorary piper of the Geelong Commun na Feinne and the Colac and Camperdown Caledonian societies. He was born in Balmacara, Rosshire, and arrived in Victoria in 1852. Lachlan Maclachlan was born in Argyllshire, Scotland in 1808. He initially travelled to NZ before coming to Melbourne in 1852. In 1853 he became the Police Magistrate at Castlemaine and then transferred to Bendigo in the same position. Kay McLennan was an ABC broadcaster for religions programming for 25 years retiring in 2005. She presented several programs on ABC Radio National including "For The God Who Sings" for which she is best known. She has reported on religious affairs for ABC all over the world including a convention in Korea where she encountered KGB agents and accidentally stumbled into a protest and got tear gassed.
