He mentions the cost of living; Royal Doulton crockery set nineteen pounds, bedroom suite and lounge one hundred and ninety-five pounds, rent for a house " a modern place situated in a very nice area" three guineas a week. On the back of the envelope is an Oslo post-mark dated '2-5.51'.
