A Cohn Brothers Calendar for January, 1940. The Calendar has a painting by A.D. Colquhoun(Colquhoun, Archibald Douglas) of the arrival of Edward Henty at Portland on November 19th, 1834 depicting the arrival of British Colonists arriving at a beach along with their farm animals and pets. Single sheet colour calendar for 1983, published by the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA), successors to the Melbourne and Metropolitan Tramways Board. Large portion of the calendar features the changeover from the MMTB to the MTA - eg green colours replacing the orange. Also on the base of the cartoon by Augustine is a number of caricatures of well known MMTB/MTA personnel. On top of the calendar has the letters M&MTB being demolished and those of the MTA being positioned. Printed on heavy cartridge paper. Desk set made of wood from St Paul's Cathedral with an added metal and enamel calendar. A history of the item is stuck on the reverse. "St Paul's Cathedral Melbourne. Foundation stone, 1880; Consecrated, 1891; Spires completed, 1931; Exterior length, 317'; Moorhouse Spire, 317 feet in height. The Bells of St Paul's Cathedral were supported on this timber of English oak from 1891 to 1963 when, during the absence of the bells for tuning in Loughborough, England, the timber was replaced with a steel frame.
