ON Behalf of the Maldon Hospital, Nursing Director Katrina Sprrow and resident Ruby were please last week to accept two donations - a total of $1000 - from the Masons. Southern Cross Lodge Master Peter Thompson presented a cheque for $400 which will be used to buy an ice machine for the Hospital. This was welcome news to Ruby, who enjoys a few blocks of ice in her drinks. Peter was joined at the presentation by fellow masons Ray Lindstrom and Art Lynch. The Southern Cross Masonic Lodge invited the Creswick Light Horse to be part of their traditional Vacant chair ceremony to form the burial party for the unknown soldier. The Creswick Light Horse were splendidly dressed in traditional WW1 Uniforms complete with ostrich feathers in their slouch hats, and were all spit and polish.
