'Craiglee' Winery was established by James Stewart Johnstone in 1865 and the property continued to function as a winery until the late 1920s. The vines were uprooted and the property was used for wool and fat lamb production. On the afternoon of the 17th December 1985 torrential rain fell in Sunbury and surrounding areas which resulted in widespread flooding and caused disruption on the main Melbourne Bendigo Railway line. The two arch bluestone bridge which spanned the Jacksons Creek was replaced in the early 1970s with a wider double lane bridge. Dangerous curves were also taken out of the road. Heavy snow fell across Melbourne and surrounding suburbs, including Sunbury, on 25th July 1985. The people in the photographed were honoured in the 'Heroes of Hume', exhibition that was mounted by Hume City Council in the George Evans Museum in Sunbury in May 2000. The two women were nurses at the Sunbury Asylum in 1918. They were photographed standing g outside the kitchen cottage in the asylum grounds. The Sunbury Asylum was an important institution in the district and employed many local people. The funeral recorded was that of Michael Ford which took place on the 20 June 1933 at Sunbury. He resided in Union Road Ascot Vale but was buried at Sunbury Cemetery. He was sixty-five years old. He was buried in the Roman Catholic section H plot 21 with two others in plots 22 an 23. His burial number was 2754. The registrar was W&W Lang and the undertaker was E H King. The bottle was donated to the Council by Hedley Elliott for an exhibition in the Art Gallery (George Evans Museum). Note that Goonawarra is misspelt on the label.Green glass bottle used for 1975 claret and bottled for the first Sunbury Fair. The label is printed in brown and cream and features a sketch of the Goonawarra Winery and surrounding area. There is a brief statement on the back about the winery and the background to production of the wine.
