Mal Rowe advised 23/8/2020 by e-mail: From the draft text of "The W book": "The first SW6 tram to be decorated was No. 915, which was painted and fitted with panels and aprons promoting fifty years of the Federation of Australia, 1901 to 1951. No. 915 ran on all lines from November, 1950 until May, 1951. In November 1951 No. 915 was fitted with roof illuminations for a six week Christmas promotion. The two page statement notes the tramway system as an evolving entity and technology. And included document is "A Brief History of Melbourne's Trams and tramways", considers the history of the tramway system, cable cars, W class cars, buses, WW2, postwar developments, Robert Risson and a heritage assessment. The tram has not been fitted with a route number box. A number of workmen in the view "leaning on their shovels" as the tram goes past. Photo could be between Moreland Road and Bell St or in Lygon St before the end of the cable trams in Sydney Road Coburg. OR - in Moreland Road itself, having just left Nicholson St - note heavy wires at the rear of the tram. Photo can be dated from the date a route number box was fitted.
