Proposed Programme for Alexandra Fountain Centenary Celebrations 5th July 1981. Town Clerk's Report to the Ordinary Meeting of Council 4th May 1981 re proposed activities of a centenary celebration. The Bendigo Branch of the Royal Historical Society of Victoria has expressed interest in such a celebration and ''would cooperate fully’ ‘A suggested program and arrangements is given along with an expectation of the cost. Program for the first opening of Parliament after Federation. Prince George Frederick Ernest Albert (1865–1936), Duke of Cornwall and York was the second son of Edward VII and Queen Alexandra. The visit was part of an Empire tour and a tribute to the response made throughout the Empire during the Boer War. Medal struck on a shield-shaped flan with a crown and loop at the top. The coronation of Edward VII in 1902 prompted major celebrations in Australia. This medal probably issued to school children in Victoria. Hamilton and Western District Boys' College was established in 1872 as a private business. It was acquired by the Presbyterian Church in 1911, relinquished in 1919 and re-acquired by the Presbyterian Church of Victoria in 1956. It amalgamated with Alexandra College in the 1962.
