The advertised St Patrick's Day race meeting was held on Saturday 18th March and a special train for patrons was run form Castlemaine, leaving at 1.15pm and returning at 7pm.Bendigo Advertiser '' the way we were'' from 2002. Stacks on: stacking wheat at Shelborne in 1916. The poster stuck to the engine is advertising the St Patrick's Day races at the Maldon racecourse on March 18, 1916.
