A machine fitted with sharp blades, for mashing, crushing or liquefying food ingredients. i.e vitamizing. The jug, made of glass, steel, aluminium or plastic, contains rotor blades that engage with a bit protruding from the base containing an electric motor. When activated by the switch on the base the sharp rotor blades chop, mix , mince, pulverize the ingredients in the jug . The degree of mince depends on the time the motor is running. This grinding stone (mortar) was used by Aboriginal people to grind or crush different materials such as berries and seeds for food production. In order to grind material, a smaller upper stone (the pestle) would have been used to grind material against this lower stone (the mortar). The stone was found by a farmer on land south of Donald in the 1950’s and was used as a door stop in the family home for many years. In the 1990's the stone was used by the farmer's grandaughter at her home at Swanwater West, to hold the lid down on an above ground swimming pool skimmer box. Stone

Newspaper article and typed copy of same, detailing the fatal accident that occurred at the mine on the 22nd January 1953, in which Herbert Hunter of Kangaroo Flat was killed. ' Hunter was working at No 16 level at a depth of 1270 feet from the surface and about 500 feet south from the shaft when a large piece of stone , estimated to wrigh about one ton, broke away. Like this quartz mine on the Black Hill, Ballarat (1855) with its crushing machine at the base of the hill - - - Slide: Shows dwellings one made from timber with chimney, one made from canvas, with a veranda and what appears to be a round metal chimney. 2 men in the for ground have some timber and could be contemplating a timber dwelling. Cyril Raymond Scarborough PRE WW2 served in 38th BN Militia 1921-1938. From 1939 h tried to join the RAAF as “Carpenter General” his trade, rejected several times no position available. Finally accepted on 26.2.42 age 37 plus years No 51255. There are no embarkation dates recorded but on 1.6.44 repairing a bridge over the Raku River Aitape during enemy action and occupation he crushed his right foot and was hospitalised in New Guinea returning to duty on 16.10.44. At the end he enlisted in the “Interim Army” from 24.7.46 and went on to serve in BCOF Japan. A silver plated case to hold, and protect from crushing, cigarettes in a coat pocket. A cigarette is a narrow cylinder containing tobacco, that is rolled into thin paper for smoking. "Tailor-made" in relation to cigarettes means cigarettes that have been mass-produced in a factory and usually have a filter tip inserted at the mouth piece. 'Hand-rolled' cigarettes or 'roll-your-own'. were made by the person themselves by rolling thin paper around a pinch of loose cut tobacco. After World War 2 1914- 1918 tailor made cigarettes were mass produced in large factories and were inexpensive and easy to obtain world wide. Ore bearing rock brought out of the mine was crushed at the battery by heavy metal stampers and the fine material passed over copper pates coated with mercury. Gold particles would combine with the mercury forming an amalgam which was then scrapped off the copper plates and put into the amalgam bucket ready for retorting too extract the gold. The amalgam of mercury and gold was placed into the retort which was heated to evaporate the mercury. The mercury cooled as it ran down the pipe which was recovered to be reused leaving the gold behind. The gold would later be put into a crucible and heated to burn of impurities and the molten pure gold poured into an ingot.A heavy cast iron bucket 20 centimetres high, 16 centimetres in diameter at its base and 22 centimetres diameter at the top. It has a spout five centimetres wide protruding two centimetres.
