6A Built in 1901 and painted two-tone green, this locomotive was issued to the Colac to Beech Forest line and was used in that line’s construction. Over the years, it saw service on all four lines, but mostly on the Colac to Crowes and Upper Fern Tree Gully to Gembrook lines. It was temporarily withdrawn from service in 1958 and returned to service at Belgrave in 1962 for the reopening of this line where it saw almost continuous service until being withdrawn in 1983. It has been restored, as far as possible, to its original condition with original design side tanks, low bunker, original size windows, etc., but a steel cow-catcher in place of the original style wooden one. It also has its original colour scheme of two-tone green with white lining. 7A Built in 1905 and painted Canadian red & dark brown, this locomotive was issued to the Wangaratta to Whitfield line and saw service on all four lines with most of its service on the Upper Fern Tree Gully to Gembrook line. It was temporarily withdrawn from service in 1958 and returned to service at Belgrave in 1962 for the reopening of this line where it has seen almost continuous service since. 1979 saw the early two-tone green colour scheme applied to this loco as a trial even though it never historically carried it, but its physical configuration was not altered accordingly. Lamson was established in Australia in 1898 with the idea for a store security money handling system being patented in the latter part of the 19th century.The practise of taking money from the counter and customer to the cashier was time consuming and cumbersome.Some bright ideas were employed including tying the money and dockets in a hankerchief and throwing it to the cashier. The first attempt to improve this was the ball system where a ball containing the cash was rolled to the cashier on an elevated track. The rapid wire system superseded this in the early 1900's and for the next 50 years it became a popular part of money handling in stores around Australia. This particular Lamson's cash carrier was installed in Youngers department store which was situated in Liebig Street. The success of Youngers store was partly responsible for the shift to Liebig St as the main commercial district. The Warrnambool Standard reported in 1901 that Younger and Co would operate on a wholly cash basis replacing incidental trades of goods such as potatoes and other farm produce.This item has strong social and historical significance. Apart from having strong links to one of Warrnambool's largest and longest running businesses, the object itself is of considerable interest with thousands of the original ball systems and Rapid Wire cash carriers being in use around the world. Pumps were used to move water from one place to another. This one was connected by a belt to an engine that would drive it. Electricity is used to drive pumps nowadays.This pump was used in the original Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme.Blue steel and brass water pump bolted onto a wooden base. The stand of the pump is rectangular at one end and round at the other. The rectangular end has a hollow brass cylinder extending up. Inside the brass cylinder is a steel piece with a wide brass cylinder attached at right angles at the top. This is attached at the top to a blue steel 'T' at which the other end has a blue (on the inside) wheel with four curved spokes. When the wheel is turned the steel piece inside the cylinder moves from side to side. On either side of the cylinder, at its base are outlets with screw on fittings. In the early 1970s was the largest factory in the southern hemisphere. In the late 1970s Pender Bros sold the beekeeping business in the late 1970s to the workers of Pender Bros and the name changed to Pender Beekeeping. The business moved to Rutherford New South Wales. The business was sold and changed to Pender Beegoods around 1989.
