David Robertson (1855-1953) was a founding member of the Association for the Advancement of the Blind and president 1895-1899 and 1913. For centenary celebrations of the Association, portraits were painted of past presidents and photographs gathered in preparation of this. Captain Reid served as a Councillor of the Phillip Island and Woolamai Shire in 1875. He was the first Trustee and President, as well as being instrumental in establishing a school at Rhyll on block 13 about 1870. He died in 1891 at the age of 75. Murals: Eileen Robertson, a GMH employee, was asked to do the murals in 1948 for the launching of the Holden. Her brief was to 'do something to do with transport'. In the event, they were covered anyway. She did not even view them again until 1992, around the time the murals were cleaned and restored. The left mural shows pioneer transport and on the right is the future.
