Port light from the s.s.Casino - authenticated by sale at Apollo bay - John McDonald purchased 2 lamps the green lamp was later broken and discarded. Amaryllis was the first fishing boat built by the Haldane Brothers in Port Fairy 1935. A well boat was on the Port Fairy register from 1936 -1943 in the name of W.H.Haldane. She was requisitioned by the armed services during 1943 and did not return to Port Fairy. This was Arnie Brown's house in the main street of Cowes. Arnie lived at Hastings, but came to live on Phillip Island in 1908. One of the best known boatman - he provided fishing trips for visitors. He died in the autumn of 1952 from an accident when tying up at Cowes Jetty. He had numerous fishing boats.Old house in Thompson Avenue, Cowes. The house was situated in Reserve Road, almost opposite Wangara Road, (formerly Cemetery Road).
