Demonstrates aspects of the Ballarat Tramways management system of Motorman's' rosters interfacing during the last full period of operation of the tramway. Shows the services and how the various run or crew tables were arranged in relation to the overall timetable. Photo copy on heat sensitive paper of a handwritten sheet on graph paper for the arrangement of the Weekdays, Saturday and Sunday Rosters on the various Ballarat routes. Gives the various run numbers, sign on location, trip take times, notes on what to do with trams, sign off times, interface with other runs. Shows the full or basic 20 min service during the day and 30 mins at night. Show how the various run or crew tables were arranged to provide the service overall. Demonstrates the method of dispensing tickets by conductors, how the tickets could be arranged, during the last period of Ballarat Tramways - 1971 fare system. Yields information about the style and printing of tickets used in Ballarat and Bendigo tramways and how they were presented. Ticket wallet with a set of eight 1970's Ballarat tram tickets set up to represent a typical conductor's set of tickets. .1 - Sheet of leather, approx. 2mm thick, stained brown with four pockets formed on each side with another sheet of leather, stitched on all sides to form pockets to hold eight blocks of tickets. Yields information about Bendigo tramcars - provided in a list form that enabled sharing of the information with others.Hand written list of Bendigo tramcars on buff colour ledger paper - ruled with blue and red lines - two sheets or four pages listing tramcar numbers, builder, date in service, and whether sold or scrapped. Has "Please Return" on top right hand corner of first sheet. Page 1 - Bendigo Battery and Steam tram motors. Page 2 - Steam trailers Page 3 - Electric trams - with information through to 1943 Page 4 - Electric trams, electric trailers (double deck), and when last used and water tank scrubber - Bush of 1908, noted as "still in action". Yields information about the style and printing of tickets used in Ballarat and Bendigo tramways and how they were presented.Ticket - black ink on off white paper, denomination 3d, numbered E105305, headed State Electricity Commission of Victoria, Provincial Tramways. The ticket price is in orange ink while the ticket number itself is in black ink. The rear of the ticket is blank. Ticket is different to other 3d tickets, could have been printed earlier than these. All from The Courier, unless noted otherwise. 1 - "Bus v Tram" - 10-2-1962 - letter - from M Stewart of Sydney, say that the move to buses as in Sydney should not be allowed to happen. 2 - "Tram Facts" - 13-2-62 - letter - about the need for a private operator to run at a profit, higher fares - a public authority would maintain concession fares. 3 - "On the Lines" - 13-2-62 - letter - supporting the trammies. 4 - "Bendigo Meeting Moves to Retain Trams" - 12-3-62 - reporting on a meeting of 11-2-62- in Bendigo, well attended. Has a Bushells Pty Ltd advert on rear for a free booklet "How to read tea cups". 2 - 4d - X999320 - off white paper, with printing in brown and the ticket number in black. Has a brown lined back. 3 - Two (2) No.10c tickets, office white paper with printing in black - numbers D0116901 and D016902.
