John Black pictured as a young child, was the only son of Constantine and Efstathia Black (Mavrokefalos). John's parents came to Australia in the early 1900s. They owned and operated the Paris Residential Cafe at 56 Swanston Street in the second decade of the 20th century. John is the brother of Olga and Nina Black, both of whom were very active in Ithacan and Greek community cultural life. A scanned black and white studio photograph of a little boy leaning against a wall which has drawings of two birds and a bird cage on it. The boy is wearing a woollen jumper and light trousers and is looking intently at the camera. -

The young men were photographed as a social function. Two are dressed in dinner suits, with a small flower in their lapels which suggests they were possibly part of a wedding party. Standing far right is John Vlassopoulos, the son of Aleko and Alexandra Vlassopoulos (Kioukiouris). Third from the right is Bill Benias, son of Achileas and Artemisia Benias. A glossy finished black and white photograph with a white border of seven young men in suits. They are standing in front of a large mirrored wall. Two of the men are wearing formal attire. -

'Nithsdale' built c1890 by Barke Brothers, early storekeepers of Lakes Entrance, occupied by William, John and Mrs Jane Barke (mother). After c1920 lived in by members of the Coate/Symmons families. Later sold to Zagami and Crea, then lived in by Richard and Marlene Rijs in the late 1970s/early 1980s. Later again sold to Tromp and relocated to Lake Tyers Beach in the late 1980s or early 1990s.Black and white photograph of a late Victorian style dwelling on Esplanade.
