The first recipient was Eaglehawk cyclist Frank McCaig and the Awards have grown in stature ever since. The Raywood Borough was created on 17 January 1865 and was united into Marong Shire on 1 October 1915. In 1994 . In 1994 the City of Greater Bendigo was created from the amalgamation of the former City of Bendigo with the Borough of Eaglehawk, Shire of Strathfieldsaye, Shire of Huntly and parts of the Rural City of Marong and Shire of McIvor. It now includes the towns of Axedale, Elmore, Heathcote, Marong, Raywood and StrathfieldsayeDecorated hand operated cast iron embosser with 35mm stamp head attached. Gold and maroon painted decorations extend from top edge of handle including scrolls and roses. Well used showing all over signs of wear. Booklet - Bendigo Swimming Club - Reflections Over 70 Years, 1987
The first general meeting of the Bendigo Swimming and Life Saving Club was held in October 1917. The club was established at a large dam in Barnard Street and included its own lifesaving boat. Prior to this there was a Bendigo Swimming Club that was accessed by subscription. This club swam at a variety of privately owned bathing pools, including McGuires Baths in View Point and Moran's Baths. This club existed as early as 1863. In 1966 the Bendigo club combined with the Eaglehawk swimming club and in 2012 and in 2012 the name changed to the Bendigo Hawks Aquatics.57-page soft cover booklet with gold covers.
