Edmondson pasteboard railway ticket, No. 14, dated 25 April 1974, for use on a Ballarat Tramway Preservation Society special train from Morwell to Mirboo North and return. Victorian Railways "S" circular, number S2038/74 advising of a BTPS excursion from Ballarat to Maryborough on Thursday 26/9/1974 (Melbourne Show Day). Noted that about 20 passengers travelling on the 12.45pm goods from Ballarat to Maryborough and returning on the 4.15pm rail car, a passenger carriage was to be attached to the goods train at the rear, next to the brake van. Also, a bulk ticket would be issued by the Stationmaster at Ballarat and signed by M.W.B. Ronald as Chief Traffic Manager. Issued on 16/9/1974. Four page (two sheets of A4 - double sided) on gold paper, printed as a Tour Booking form for a tour of Melbourne tram lines, titled "W3 661 Tram tour - Melbourne Revisited" for 27/5/1989. The tram was on loan at the time to "Yappa Tours" from the BTPS. See first and second paragraphs for details of the tram being in Melbourne. Also contained on pages 1 and 2 are notes on W3 class trams, their history and dispersal. Pages 2, 3 and 4 give details of the tour and the booking form. Tour operated by the Rail Tourist Association. Tour booking officer was Geoff Cargeeg. Printed using a typed wax stencil and then duplicated. Thirty two page landscape booklet on semi gloss white paper with off white cover and single supplementary white sheet tipped onto the inside of the front cover titled "See Melbourne's Beautiful Beaches and Garden Suburbs from a Special Bus". Saddle stapled, printed letterpress. Text printed in black and green ink. Cover green ink only. The book advertising MMTB's Special tourist bus, giving overall tour details on page 1, including fares, time of departures and reservations. Each tour has a map showing the route, details of the tour route with notes and photographs. Page 14 shows a maximum traction tram on the reserved track in Dandenong road and page 30, W2 488 outbound in Victoria Parade. Page 32 has an advertisement for the Round Trip by Tram 1/-. Front cover has details of the departure times and fares and a photo of the Tourist Bus. The supplementary sheet has been prepared for the tours that operated daily from Sun Sept. 17 to Friday May 31, except Anzac Day. Photo of Ballarat No. 18 photographed alongside MMTB AEC Regal Mk III bus, No. 543 (42 seats) (Reg. No. HJG 543). No. 18 has a specially painted board over the front of the tram "60th Anniversary / Electric Trams / 1905 Ballarat 1965". Standing between the tram and Bus are Les Denmead, D. Irvine, J. Dowd and T.
