In 1991, the two Army Reserve armoured corps units located in Victoria, 4th/19th Prince of Wales's Light Horse and 'A' Squadron 8th/13th Victorian Mounted Rifles were linked to form a new regiment titled 4/19th Prince of Wales's Light Horse. It comprised two squadrons: VMR Squadron and PWLH Squadron. Harrison, Mayor of the City of Ballaarat, dated 2nd May 1932 of the "brave deed" of Mr. Charles Foster, ESCo driver who rescued a small boy from in front of a tramcar.
