Skirt belonged to Grace Begg(born 15-9-1857). Worn by her at Mt Carmel sheep station, near Heathcote, Victoria. Station managed by her father John Begg. Grace married Russell Scott Thomas on 2 August 1890 at Heathcote and later lived in Albert Park. She was grandmother of Russell Alexander of Creek Road Mitcham (Russell Alexander Menswear Mitcham). His wife Coral wore the frock on occasions.c 1890 Black grograin material skirt, two double inverted pleats in front, two flat covered buttons and four acorn shaped buttons (covered) joined with rouleaux to the shape of frogs.
