These fountain pens have no known local provenance but are good examples of the type of writing implements that replaced the use of pen and ink and came into popular use in the 1940s. They were superseded by the introduction of the ballpoint pen.These items are retained for display purposes.1 A mottled green and black fountain pen with a gold trimming on the screw top, a gold lever on the base that is lifted to fill the pen with ink and a gold clip on the lid for attaching the item to a pocket.
