The people in the photographed were honoured in the 'Heroes of Hume', exhibition that was mounted by Hume City Council in the George Evans Museum in Sunbury in May 2000. Each person featured had contributed to aspects of community life in the Hume City area over many years. The two women were nurses at the Sunbury Asylum in 1918. They were photographed standing outside the kitchen cottage in the asylum grounds. The Sunbury Asylum was an important institution in the district and employed many local people. The funeral recorded was that of Michael Ford which took place on the 20 June 1933 at Sunbury. He resided in Union Road Ascot Vale but was buried at Sunbury Cemetery. He was sixty-five years old. He was buried in the Roman Catholic section H plot 21 with two others in plots 22 an 23. His burial number was 2754. The registrar was W&W Lang and the undertaker was E H King. The sign was erected outside the former Sunbury Council Chambers and the Sunbury Library which also housed the George Evans Museum. Riddell Road is the continuation of Macedon Street and is on the west side of the town centre. The mansion in the photograph is Rupertswood, in Sunbury, which William Clarke built in 1874 - 76 on land that he had purchased in 1840.Since Rupertswood Mansion was built it has been the venue a variety of events and owners as well as the Clarke family.
