Collected by Lisa Gervasoni when she visited the ship as part of the City of Ballarat's delegation to the ship on the 9th December 2006. HMAS Ballarat (FFH 155) is an Anzac-class frigate of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). The frigate was laid down in 2000 and commissioned into the RAN in mid-2004. Since entering service, Ballarat has been involved in border protection as part of Operation Relex II, was deployed to the Gulf for Operation Catalyst, and was one of the two ships involved in the Operation Northern Trident 2009 round-the-world voyage. Ballarat has undergone the Anti-Ship Missile Defence (ASMD) upgrade, completing in 2015. Whisky came in bottles sold at licensed premises either locally or in larger cities visited during shopping expeditions. The shape of bottles varied. Bottles were recycled remaining the property of the manufacturer who paid for their return. History of James Dickson Co. Pty. Ltd.Historical: Change of Bottles - shape, glass, embossing. Collected by bottle collectors. Aesthetic: Display showing embossing and shapeClear glass whisky bottle with heavy embossing on one side where the maker's name and details is printed in capital letters longitudinally. Heavily embossed zig zag pattern at the top of straight sides that go three quarters of the way up. The sides taper to the neck which has straight sides to the screw top opening. The tapered section is grooved with ridges of straight lines to a lip which is between it and the neck. Side (longitudinally): 'This Bottle is the Property of / James Dickson & Co. Pty Ltd / Established 1854 / Melbourne Aust. / And Cannot Be Legally Used By Others' Base: 'A' above 'F892' and 'M' beneath. This certificate was presented to Reginald Sebire in 1914 and displayed at Mont De Lancey until his death. It is displayed in the House Dining Room above the fireplace. Reginald was the eldest son of Thomas and Linda Sebire, the grandson of William and Martha. He and his wife Gwen (Quale) lived in the home of Mont De Lancey with their children until his death in 1962. The certificate is on Loan from Graeme or Alvan Sebire (sons of Reginald)A scalloped shaped framed certificate presented to Reginald J. Sebire in July 1914. The frame is thin brown wood with a light blue trim and a glass front. A coloured coat of arms appears above the inscription with two female figures standing above and beside the coat of arms. The inscription certificate has a white border and buff coloured background.'Independent Order of Rechabites: Salford Unity Established Aug 25th 1835. Registered March 27 1854 Junior Section. Trophy was won at the Geelong Fire Brigade Jubilee in 1904. This would have been a demonstartion to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Geelong brigade which formed in 1854Silver shield mounted on a wooden backing board. Trophy was won by Ballarat Fire Brigade at the Geelong Fire Brigade Jubilee in 1904. Trophy was donated by Merrywetather & sons Lim. Trophy has a Lion at the top centre, angels on both the left and right sides. In the centre is a horse drawn fire appliance (assumed a Merryweather steam pumper) drawn by 2 horses through what appears to be a town square. There are 3 fireman standing on the front of the appliance and 1 on the rear. There are various other branches, leaves etc. that make up the remainder of the decorations on the sheild. Trophy has a Lion at the top centre, angels on both the left and right sides. In the centre there is a depection of 2 large multi storey buildings. The building in the front of the picture has a carraige ladder raised up against it with 2 firemen climbing the ladder. There are 2 additional firemen either side of the ladder and an additional fireman in front of standing in front of with another standing on top of what appears to be either a mannual pump or possibly the ladders appliance. There are various other branches, leaves etc. that make up the remainder of the decorations on the sheild.
