Mortyn who was Secretary of the Stawell Shire from 1947 - 1960. A small black & white photo of the Stawell Shire Hall with its brick facade with a parapet top. The entrance doorway in the centre with windows each side. In front a wrought iron fence. The gate of the fence is painted white. Black & white photograph of Stawell Shire Hall, taken in July 1949 when Stawell had a heavy snow fall. The photo shows the Shire Hall to the left of trees, with a laneway beside. A telegraph pole stands on the right side of the lane. The lane called Millers Lane was named in 2012. The snow fall occurred on the 18th of July 1949.Black & white photograph of the Stawell Shire Hall and Millers Lane. The photograph was taken in 1949 when snow had fallen in Stawell. Millers Lane has a telegraph pole on the corner. Longfield road looks cleared of snow but thick on either side of the road. Deep Lead Church (Methodist) A set of six photos taken between 1927 and 1930. The site where this weather board church was situated is directly opposite the brick Deep Lead school on the Western Highway. The sugar gums still remain. At previous times other denominations used the building. 113 Methodist Weatherboard church, Deep Lead with people in the doorway. Out the front is a car parked in front of a picket fence. Printed on back of photo "These photographs were taken between 1927 & 1930. At this time Methodist Church services were conducted there; Sunday school was also held there until about 1936. The church building was sold to the Anderson Family of Dadswell's Bridge and rebuilt into a private home". 113.01 Group of children.
