A 2 page double spread feature in the Herald Sun on 29th August 2000 to promote Legacy prior to Legacy Week. The photo of Legatees Rob Allison and Denise Milic is accompanied by the article 'Denise gives it back'. Denise was helped by Legacy when her father, who had served in World War 2, died when she was 12. Denise now joined Legacy to help the older Legatees who have had to slow down their involvement. Until 1996 Legatees were people who had served in the forces. Then it was extended to include Junior Legatees who were the children of servicemen who had died. Rob Allison had been a Legatee for 50 years. The other article was about the types of service Legacy provided for widows and children and included a photo of junior legatees rock climbing on an outing. A story on how a child helped by Legacy has joined as a Legatee. This scrapbook serves as a record to Eugene and Mollie Sander's time as Mayor and Mayoress of Bendigo. Collected by the Sandners it chronicles twelve months of activities and politics through selected Bendigo Advertiser articles and cartoons and event memorabilia from August 1978 to August 1979. Eugene and Annie Mary (Mollie) Sibson married in 1933 and both were associated with the Bendigo Hospital. Eugene held a the position of Medical Officer for 48 years and Mollie as a paid nursing sister until her marriage in 1933, although Mollie did continue to hold an unpaid position on the Board of Management of the Hospital for many years afterwards. The instrument was 93 years old and hadn't been played for more than eighty years. An audience of 500 were entertained with pieces by Schubert and Bach for the first half of the program and Waltzes, Mazurkas, and Polonaises by Chopin after the interval. Gippsland Heritage Journal is a journal, produced about every nine - twelve months, for those interested in regional, local and family history in Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. It is compiled by Meredith Fletcher, Debbie Squires and Linda Barraclough and includes a diverse range of articles, both academic and non-academic. Since No.24 it has been a partially refereed journal. This copy was used in the library of Orbost Secondary College.
