Taken probably very soon after arrival - photographed at Gardens Loop Wendouree Parade, has MMTB wartime markings on bumper. Could be on a test trip given the people standing around the tramcar. Tram arrived in Ballarat 10/1945. Original negative held in the negative file. Laser print of scanned image in box 01-01-77. Scanned at 2100 dpi and Photoshopped for file image. Published by the "The SKF Ball Bearing Company Ltd" in August 1939, gives details of the type of ball bearings available for tramcars - axle boxes, tramway motors, current collection - trolley poles and pantographs. Shows a view of Sturt St c1910, with two trams and horse drawn carts, shows the a busy foreground scene. Has a very poignant message on the rear about the impact of the Great War.Printed coloured postcard of the Sturt St looking west from Grenville St. Has the two ESCO trams in the photograph, two horse drawn carts, cycles and pedestrians. In the middle of the photograph is the ESCo tramway waiting shelter, constructed in 1907. Has the Suttons building and D'Albora? buildings lettered in the photograph. The red printing layer is off register. The rear of the postcard has a central vertical line, with the word "Post Card" at the top, "Printed in Germany" on the left hand side and the number "B379 10" in the bottom right hand corner. Titled "Sturt Street, Ballarat looking West." along top edge of the photo. On the rear of the photograph has the words in pencil "Australia" and the message "Ballarat is a city in Victoria. Mother, my two late Brothers, youngest brother and I were there in 1914, in Oct, just after the War Commenced. My second Brother and the first of the two to lose his life, enlisted when returned from Ballarat. Sturt is Ballarat's main street." Set of 17 large and 7 small TB uniform clothing buttons. Large Button about 23 diameter, with TB crest, with backing piece and lug for sewing on rear. Nickel plated silver? Most have two holes in the rear as well. All but one made by Stokes and Sons, Victoria. One large button made by K. G. Luke A/Asia. Small button, approx. 16 diameter, as above, with or without holes in the rear. One button by K. G.
