"Conductor 23" by H.P.James (1899 - 1949) as given to Ballarat Historical Society, 13/11/1945. Another person standing by the doorway wearing a leather apron. Trams has destination of Grey St. Sebastl" Person looking into tram wearing the leather apron is probably the driver of the Fruit truck that collided with the tram. Published in the Courier on 3/9/1971. 2nd copy added 29/5/05 - in good condition. Hi Res version added 16-12-2015. Yields information about the incidents/accidents that can occur on a street tramway system - collisions resulting in the rare virtual total demolition of a tram in Ballarat.Black and white photograph of SEC No. 20 after accident on 16/9/1970. See Kings, "Ballarat Tramways" p57 for further details. Taken in Victoria St. by Courier and published the following day. Tram has been almost completely demolished to the floor boards.
