This is the only known photo of a stage coach in the Learmonth and District Historical Societies collection. This is a copy of an original photo given to the society by Anne Beggs-Sunter. It also shows 33 adults and children whom are all dressed in their Sunday best clothes. Arthur Edward Mansfield. Records are confusing but it appears he initially enlisted on 1.5.1916 in 20th reinforcements 5th Bn age 19 years 10 months, discharged medically unfit 15.8.1916 not due to misconduct. He was accepted again for specific duty on 20.9.1917 No 19332 in the AAMC and embarked on 25.9.1917 on the No 2 Australian Hospital ship as an Orderly. The Tawonga Store was a general store in the Upper Kiewa Valley providing for the farming community. This store had a variety of items and was the main store for many of the farming families who would travel in on horse and cart to make weekly trips to the store for supplies.George Potter owned the store before 1920. Whit Potter, George's son worked with his father for many years.
