B&W postcard, Rose Series P.2365, named 'At The Kiosk, Ferntree Gully, Vic.' Photo shows around twenty or more cars parked outside the kiosk in what is now Ferntree Gully National Park Several people are walking and standing in the carpark and on the paths. The kiosk is visible in the background with advertising signs outside, including one for Peters Ice-cream. Closer to the camera is a stone shelter. There are tall trees beside the carpark and in the background of the photo is a heavily treed hillside. The back of the postcard is blank. -

Photograph features a Graham Paige car at Lysterfield Reservoir. Bill Lord is dressed in dark trousers, open-necked shirt (with rolled-up sleeves), and a fedora. Ann Lord in a patterned summer dress. Bill Slingo junior in dark shorts, light shirt and sunhat, and Bill Slingo Senior in trousers with braces, a white shirt and a peaked cap. They are seated on a bench or wall. The Lords are seated on a satin-edged blanket. Behind the group a dam wall is visible. Photo was most likely taken by Alice Lord on the same day as VSSHP0267.03. . -

Black and White Photograph of the Narre Warren East shop, possibly taken 1953-1956, featuring a building at the top of a driveway. About seven cars are parked out the front of the building. The shop has a high-pitched roof, a central door, and large windows or a verandah. Under the left windows is an advertisement for Swallows ice cream. There are trees surrounding the shop. This was the first and only store in Narre Warren East. It is now a house on Wellington Road. The home and store was built by Bert Dorning, and the Dornings opened and ran the store. -

Two grandsons of Charles and Minnie Gray of Belgrave South with an unidentified lad. The boy on the left is unnamed, the boy in the middle is Alan Gray, son of Bob and Elsie Gray, and on the right is Neil Sheldon Oram, son of Albert John (Jack) Oram and Margaret (Maggie) Oram nee Gray. They all appear to be in their teens and are wearing suits and ties. Alan Gray is holding a football. They are standing on a driveway with a paling fence behind them and the front of a car on the left. Copy of original photo donated to our society by Kath Oram, a founding member. -

Sign, "Children's Carriages ....."
One of a group of signs that were fitted into tramcars in Ballarat, giving instructions to passengers about prams, behaviour, smoking, fare payment, talking to the motorman, instructions or information to drivers etc. Yields information about the sign manufacture, demonstrates the type of signs provided in tramcars.Enamel sign, black capital letters and lines on white background, titled "Children's Carriages which fold compactly may be permitted on cars at conductors discretion and owner's risk". One of a number similar signs donated to the Ballarat Tramway Preservation Society by the SEC following closure of the Ballarat Tramways system in 1971. Yields information about the appearance of the tramway and other vehicular traffic in Ballarat in 1060 and was used to illustrate a proposal to rename the street.Black and White photograph of Ballarat No. 38 at the Eastern end of Sturt St West, following proposal to name that section the "Royal Mile". Photo published by The Courier 5/4/1960. Has the outbound tram standing while the front door is open with the driver looking back. Note the lack of motor vehicles (cars) in the street. The photographer says this was taken on the last day of trams in Lydiard Street in 1971.
