Deep Lead Church (Methodist) A set of six photos taken between 1927 and 1930. The site where this weather board church was situated is directly opposite the brick Deep Lead school on the Western Highway. The sugar gums still remain. At previous times other denominations used the building. 113 Methodist Weatherboard church, Deep Lead with people in the doorway. Out the front is a car parked in front of a picket fence. Printed on back of photo "These photographs were taken between 1927 & 1930. At this time Methodist Church services were conducted there; Sunday school was also held there until about 1936. The church building was sold to the Anderson Family of Dadswell's Bridge and rebuilt into a private home". 113.01 Group of children. The Mayor of Hume City Council, Jack Ogilvie, was addressing local 12th December 1999 in the grounds of the former Bulla Roads Board building. St. Mary's Church of England is adjacent to the Rose Garden. Alister Clark, a former Bulla resident and a rosarian, developed many different species of roses at his Glenara property. The garden in Bulla has been erected in his memory.Alister Clark developed many rose varieties that could withstand Australia's climate. Principal John Pascoe stands behind Senator John L. Carrick as he speaks at the official opening of stage 1 building of the new campus at Truganina, February 1979. Classes began in temporary classrooms a year earlier and students reflected on the hive of activity while buildings went up around them in the 1978 yearbook, Literata: 'We still had to put up with the noise of the builders finishing the building' D.W 'There was hardly anything to be taught in...I thought it was disorganised, lonely and hectic' K.H. 'I do not know how the workers completed the school in such a short time' A. DiM. In a longer piece, past student and school captain, Fiona Kellett, wrote: 'Where once there were just paddocks, we now have a fine school, of which we are very proud.
