Pennant produced for the Royal Australian Air Force Richmond base annual sports day, December 3rd, 1947. This triangular pennant is made from a dark blue wool felt cloth with two loops attached to the fly. The pennant is marked with the Royal Australian Air Force insignia and wording associated with the sports day.

A set of two spent ammunition rounds complete with projectile, which are souvenirs of World War 1. These are from the 1 inch Nordenfelt machine gun, the projectiles are made from solid steel with a brass jacket, have an exposed steel tip and have a groove near the base. Both the brass cartridge case and the projectile are highly polished and have been chromed (?). These are examples of trench art having been engraved with floral patterns and the words "to Fred from NL". These items were owned by Frederic Harley MM, s/n 910, a WW1 Artillery Gunner in the 36th Australian Heavy Artillery Group who served in France. He enlisted in Frankston and lived in Frankston after returning to Australia. A golf bag which has been made using parts of the standard issue Army rifle bag used during the World War 2 era.

A 25 pound howitzer ammunition casing which was manufactured during World War 2 and has been used to make a flower vase. It is an example of trench art.

Jungle boots, Vietnam era, used by U S troops and also acquired by Australian troops, prior to adoption of the US leather GP boots.A pair of jungle boots, as new, that were issued during the Vietnam conflict for U S troops, but also acquired and used by Australian troops. Constructed of leather and green canvas, and the instep of both boots has a pair of circular brass eyelets with a several tiny holes for draining water from inside the boot. They have black rubber soles on both boots . In the arch of the heel is the boot size of '(10W)' and the manufacturers stamping of '(C.I.C.)' which is believed to be associated with the principal manufacturer 'GENESCO'. Inside there is an implant for increased wearer comfort. (CIC) and (10W) on the sole near the arch. The tongue has an ink imprint; (10W) (GJ) (3 68) (SPIKE) (PROTECTIVE)

A small souvenir model of the Australian Army 'slouch hat' complete with folded brim to one side and the 'rising sun' hat badge. The model was presumably stamped from thin Copper plate. The impression of the hat badge is similar to the 1949 'fourth pattern' Australian Military Forces badge with the King's Crown.

Heavyweight cotton canvas infantryman's pack of the type issued during World War 1. The pack is rectangular in shape with a top flap that secures at the front with two leather straps and brass buckles. There are two side flaps which secure under this top flap with a steel button and serve as weather protection. There are two leather shoulder straps at the back which are secured to a reinforced base at the top of the pack with a strip of leather and brass buckles and slides, the fixed ends of these straps are attached to the pack by stitched and riveted reinforced leather. At the bottom centre there is a leather loop to allow supporting straps to be secured to the pack. Also attached to each reinforced base at the top of the pack is a short length of leather with a brass buckle for attaching the upper ends of the supporting straps. Inside the flap is a partially obscured maker's stamp which reads 'AUSTRALIA C.G.H.F. 1918' with a broad arrow. A checker's mark of a broad arrow and the initials 'SA' are also stamped on the inside. An Australian Army standard issue webbing pouch for carrying a pair of wire cutters. These were issued to infantrymen during World War 2 and worn on the standard webbing belt. Refer item 00385 and 00385.1

An example of the World War 1 standard USA Army battle helmet issued to infantry troops. This version was known as the M1917 Helmet and is based on the British Brodie helmet with minor modifications. This steel helmet is painted matte khaki, with sawdust added to the exterior finish to provide a non-reflective surface. The brim, which is fitted with an outer steel rim, varies in width from 32 mm at the front to 35 mm at the sides and rear. The helmet inner liner is incomplete. Artillery cartridge case from an 18 pounder field gun. This used brass case was manufactured in 1917. The 18 PDR was the main field artillery armament of the British and Commonwealth forces during WW 1.

Spent ammunition casing from a World War 1 German 155mm field gun (maybe Naval?). This casing was manufactured in February 1916. This is an example of trench art having had an Australian Army 'rising sun' hat badge attached to the outside surface of the case.
