The garden outside the pavilion featured a sculptural pool, a coral display, animal pool, a pit for kangaroos and Eucalypts and other native plants. Used in Nagambie by 1933 Stawell Gift winner, Goldie Heath, while training 1946 winner, Tommy Deane. Then by Heath in 1947 while training 1947 contender, Les Pianter.Heath, Deane and Pianta were Nagambie locals. Les Pianta accidentally shot himself in a shooting accident so failed to start. The Pianta family were involved in cycling and it seems the watch may have been presented to the newly formed club by Goldie Heath.Chrome pocket stop-watch with minute and second dials. Con was renowned for his friendliness, and for his active role in the community. Con's family also had 'Capace' liquor store, corner of Pool & Lalor. Sold Evans Street house & opened a wine shop in High Street, Prahran for several years. Couldn't buy house in Evans Street back so moved to Williamstown. Dutch migrants from the province of Limburg started a Jokers Club in Melbourne choosing a "Carnival Prins" every year. Hans 2 was chosen in 1987. The custom of partying prior to the start of Lent was very strong in the mainly Catholic Southern provinces - Limburg and Brabant. The custom has lost some of its religious significance and is mainly kept up as a fun event.Brass medal depicting a Joker on one side with names and a date on the other. The medal is suspended from a red and white twisted cord.Back of the medal reads: "Hans 2 1987 Bieëgdje". Made in Italy. -

One subsection of this collection is shoes, designed and manufactured for Australian women by Australian and European designers. Many of the shoes, while often mass-produced, were generally constructed by skilled artisans using traditional shoe-making techniques. The shoes date from the 1890s to the 1980s.
