Thomas Maher sent this Christmas New Year Card to his wife at home in Footscray Victoria December 1915, he later died of wounds 11-8-1918 at the Western Front. Blue in colour wth centre circle containing, 2 masted sailing ship with soldier, elephant, 3 x Conifers, 2 x Pyrimids with Camel in front. WW1 Memorial Plaque, Circa 1921
Details of CPL COX's service can be found in the attached service record.Circular plaque with an image of Britannia standing with a lion and holding a trident and an olive wreath. Below the name tablet, to the right of the lion, is an oak spray with acorns. Two dolphins swim around Britannia, symbolizing Britain's sea power, and at the bottom a second lion is tearing apart the German eagle. There is a rectangular tablet reading CHARLES THOMAS COX cast in raised letters. Number 4 stamped between back leg and tail of lion. The legend reads (in capitals) "He died for freedom and honour". Designer’s, Edward Carter Preston) initials in front of lion’s front foot. -

Set of three service medals issued to Australian Army serviceman Thomas Patrick Flood, number 3757, Private, 8th Battalion, 1st AIF who served during World War 1. Set consists of the 1914-1915 star, the British War Medal and the Allied Victory Medal, these medals are complete with original ribbons and are unmounted. A small cardboard box addressed to the recipient is enclosed. Presumably this box was originally used to deliver one of the medals by mail. -

Miss Olive Codling was a Foundation Member and a Life Member of the Wodonga Historical Society. Many of her prize-winning photos are held in the Society Collection. She also held a range of roles and committee positions in a wide range of Wodonga community organisations. These included the Horticultural Society, the Wodonga Arts Council, the Wodonga Camera Club and the Wodonga Lapidary Club. This photo collection is significant as it documents how the businesses and buildings in Wodonga have evolved and contributed to community throughout the 20th century.Businesses located in High Street. Wodonga north of the recently developed Mann Central. Malibu Ice Cream was at one time McSwiney’s Chemist, and is now High X-Posure Lingerie. For a short time it was also the premises of Pauls Ski Shop, now located in Thomas Mitchell Drive, Wodonga. Crystal's Pizza was at one time Dempster's Café and is now Junction Pizza. This book was awarded to John Thomas Good for first prize in English in the fifth form. John enrolled at Ballarat College in April of 1878 at the age of 12. Parent/Guardian listed in the register is Mrs. H.J.Murch.Presbyterian educators placed great value on a classical education matched with diligence in study. Book prizes were highly regarded and academic success admired. In the school’s early years prizes were ordered direct from London and had the school crest embossed in gold on the front or back cover. The barn of former convict Thomas Sweeney at Culla Hill remains almost in its original condition. It includes photographs taken especially for the publication, creating a unique time capsule representing the Shire in the early 21st century.
