Evidence of it being bound with a glued cover. Used as a training book for building tramway tracks, including electrical considerations. Has two pages of Exam questions at the back. Published by the International Textbook Company, early 1900's. Badge - BTPS Button, Patrick Bros Melbourne, 2000?
Set of five button badges produced by the Ballarat Tramway Museum for sale. Badges made with various coloured images of tram 31, with the words "Ballarat Vintage Tramway" around the edge of the badge and then pressed onto a metal back with a pin. Made by Patrick with their name and phone number stamped in to the centre of the rear of the badge. Have been made in a similar fashion since the mid 1970's for the BTPS/BTM. .1 - light green back .2 - white back .3 - pink back .4 - light blue back .5 - yellow back with a larger pin on rear and Patrick name not stamped into the centre. Functional Object - Ticket Wallet with 8 blocks of tickets, State Electricity Commission of Victoria (SECV), 1960's
Demonstrates the method of dispensing tickets by conductors, how the tickets could be arranged, during the last period of Ballarat Tramways - 1971 fare system. Yields information about the style and printing of tickets used in Ballarat and Bendigo tramways and how they were presented. Has a strong association with Travis Jeffery.Ticket wallet with a set of eight 1970's Ballarat tram tickets set up to represent a typical conductor's set of tickets by Travis Jeffrey. 2775.1 - Sheet of leather, approx. 2mm thick, stained brown with four pockets formed on each side with another sheet of leather, stitched on all sides to form pockets to hold eight blocks of tickets. Set of 12 views of Ballarat printed with six colour photos on one side and six black and white photos on the other side, printed onto a folded strip of paper glued within an embossed paper folder. On rear cover has publisher details "A Viewpoint Scenic Production"., titled "In Scenic Colour Ballarat, Vic". Front cover has title and small sketch showing a fountain, trees and church in the background. Would appear to be a generic cover for other cities as well. The rear cover has two sets of cut slits with black lines around the cuts to enable the folder to be closed. Pictures are: Black and White 1. Sturt St Ballarat. Printed black and white postcard of a Ballarat horse tram arriving at the Grenville St. terminus, at the bottom end of Sturt St terminus. Has buildings on both sides of Sturt St. in photograph, with some other horse drawn vehicles and a few pedestrians. In the photo are Suttons building, and business near Grenville St. of an Ironmonger and S. Laurens? On the front of the card is written a short message: - "Mother and self arrived safely in Ballarat. Train did not get in till ten o'clock. Love to all, thank for kindness. Jessie Frewin. On rear is places for correspondences stamp, address. On left hand edge is "H. J. Summerscales, next Post Office, Ballarat." Has cancellation stamp, Ballarat 3.40pm, 19.11.04" or could be 1901. Also another cancellation stamp over the red Victorian stamp with a "5" in the centre.
