She was a Fellow of the College, and was appointed a Commander of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) for services to medicine in 1975. Dr Tony Krins found this vial in a desk drawer when purchasing the Surrey Hills practice of Dr Bill Vorath in 1980. Horsehair was, and still is, a popular material for sutures. A haemacytometer is an instrument used to count blood cells. It is commonly applied to a combination of counting chambers with cover glasses and has pipettes for red and white blood cells. This haemacytometer was manufactured by Ernst Leitz's factory in Metzlar, Germany. This company grew to be come what is now Leica. Haemacytometer in brown leatherette case. Consists of two glass pipettes with attached red rubber tubing, a glass microscope slide, and three small plastic square slide accessories. The base of the case is cut out and lined with felt to accommodate the parts of the object. Top of the case is inlaid with gold coloured text which reads 'Haemacytometer/Breuer/E.Leitz/Wetzlar'. Glass slide is engraved with the text 'E.Leitz/Wetzlar' and scale measurements. Glass pipettes are printed with the text 'E. LEITZ, WETZLAR'.pathology

Title of label on the front of the jar reads 'Ralks/SILVER NITRATE/APPLICATORS/(75% SILVER NITRATE)'. Label also carries a poison warning about the nitrate and what to do should in case of accidental exposure. Printed with an expiry date of May 1986.

This sculpture was a commissioned artwork made by Victora Chancellor (nee Simcock), a Sydney artist.Ceramic sculpture, depicting a reclining mother holder her newborn baby. The mother is lying on her back, with knees drawn up and feel flat on the ground, protectively cradling a newborn baby on her chest. The umbilical cord between baby and mother is still attached. The mothers upper back is resting against a rock, holding her partially upright. Sculpture is mounted on a rectangular wooden base.obstetric delivery

Used to take a sample from the cervix as part of a cervical biopsy. 'Rostfrei' is a German word meaning 'rust free', which is an equivalent term for stainless steel.Stainless steel cervical punch. Consists of a long, thin metal shaft, extending out in a perpendicular fashion from the handle. There is a small cutting tooth at the end of the shaft. Handle consists of an oval shaped trigger attached to a solid metal handle. A curved metal spur extends from the back of the handle to provide purchase for thumb grip. Overall shape of the instrument resembles a handgun in style. Inscription on handle of instrument reads 'ROSTFREI'. obstetrics

This is one of a collection of items received from the practice of Dr Lachlan Hardy-Wilson, FRCOG, Launceston, Tasmania.Ten small glass specimen bottles enclosed in a cardboard box. Box is green and white in colour and the front of the box is printed with the text 'GIBCO DIAGNOSTICS'. Reverse of box is printed with the details of the manufacturer. One end of box is labelled 'Batch No./14' and has a sticker attached labelled 'STUART'S TRANSPORT MEDIUM', with space on the label to enter a patient's name, the specimen and the date. Instruction printed on box below sticker reads 'Store in cool dark place'. The specimen jars are identical, each being made of glass with a metal screw top lids. Each jar has a 'STUART'S TRANSPORT MEDIUM' label attached, identical to the one attached to the end of the box. The inside of nine of the bottles is discoloured with some form of residue, possibly as a result of the evaporation of a substance inside. One bottle is full, containing an undetermined liquid.

The points at the end of each arm touch at the centre. Body of forceps is engraved with the word 'STAINLESS'. The initials 'L.H.W.' have been scratched into one arm of the forceps.

1st Surrey Hills Boy Scout Troop was formed in 1909 by Theodore Hendy, two years after Lord Robert Baden-Powell had started the Movement. Hendy (left back) sent Baden-Powell greetings advising he was sending a photo of his troop. This could be the photograph. Taken in the grounds of his home "Kookaburra" (demolished) in Albany Crescent, Surrey Hills (later given the number 44). The Royal Hotel on the corner of Canterbury Road and Broughton Road can be seen on the right. The photograph was taken by M. Hill, uncle of Mr W. Dempsey. 'Kookaburra' was the home of Theodore Hendy's uncle Archibald Noete Hendy, an estate agent. Earlier it was known as 'Glastonbury'. In c1938 the house was demolished and the land divided into 4 lots. Archibald Hendy and his wife Bertha Bowen (nee Rohs) later resided at 'Barehin' in Pembroke Street.
