Programme - Text, Twenty-sixth Presentation of the 3KZ Carols by Candlelight program 1963, 1963
Carols by Candlelight is a Christmas concert held at the Sidney Myer Music bowl. Programs and candle holders were sold, and collections made during the event to raise money for the Austin Hospital and the Royal Victorian Institute for the Blind. 3KZ also recorded the concert, which was played on radio on Christmas Day with a phone number to ring to donate. Wild Heerbrugg B8 Aviograph Stereoplotters were a very accurate piece of equipment for the extraction of topographical information from stereo air photography. This is an operating manual covering all aspects of the Wild B8 Stereoplotter. Chapters include, construction, descriptions of the optical train, electrical equipment, technical data, assembly (adjustment, instructions for use and maintenance). They were widely used throughout the Royal Australian Survey Corps from 1965 onwards. They were later upgraded with tri axis locators for capturing digital topographical data.Green hard covered operating manual covering all aspects of the Wild B8 Stereoplotter. Chapters include, construction, descriptions of the optical train, electrical equipment, technical data, assembly (adjustment, instructions for use and maintenance). ERngineering and Planning were also loacted in the shop fronts located next door on Main Road.Record of various Shire of Eltham infrastructure works undertaken during the period of 1952-1962 involving bridge and road reconstruction projects, sometimes with Eltham Shire Council Project Reference numbers quoted. It was during this period that a number of significant improvements were made to roads and new bridges constructed within the shire that remain in place as of present day (2022). In many situations, the photos provide a tangible visible record of infrastructure that existed throughout the early days of the Shire. The writer and novelist Frank Hardy spent most of his childhood and early adulthood in Bacchus Marsh. This collection of short stories is inspired by his early years in the town of Bacchus Marsh in the 1930s. The collection contains 13 stories. Many of the these stories depict the poverty and struggles of working class people during the great economic depression of the 1930s. The setting is fictionalized as 'Benson's Valley' but to anyone familiar with the town Bacchus Marsh this location is clearly the setting for these stories and some of the characters are based upon Bacchus Marsh people Hardy knew at the time.Printed book.
