Two Newspaper clippings pasted onto a single sheet of paper with two Punch holes on the left hand side. First clipping from The Courier, Ballarat, Thursday 19/8/1971 of two photos of a bogie trams in Sturt St. The first one with tram 40 derailed near the intersection of Sturt St with another bogie tram behind. Both trams showing destination of "Special". The photos are associated with a tram tour for Ballarat North Technical School. See Reg items 3765, 3766 for actual prints of the Courier photographs. Second cutting dated 23/7/71 discusses the replacement of the trams with buses, the various dates and trams being sought for preservation after closure, including the City of Ballaarat, the Borough of Sebastopol and the BTPS. Quotes Mr. Pellas, the manager of the Mid-Western Electricity Supply Branch. Newspaper cutting has been altered by cutting to fit the required space on the sheet, and possibly has left out a line in the last column.In red ink in on the first cutting, adjacent to the photo caption "19/8/71" and on second cutting, "23/7/71" in red ink on the right hand upper side of the cutting. Has drawings of California Combination tramcars, Toastrack trams, Bogie trams, One-man trams, a maze drawing for the horse tram, a join the dots drawing, decode this message and a mathematical problem. Copies on sale prepared by photocopying. Originally prepared with the BTPS name on the front cover, later changed to the BTM. 2250.1 - Brown Interoffice Envelope containing originals, letter from David Frost about reproductions, how many made, dates etc. Added 23/11/2010. Photo shows Geelong 38 south bound to Belmont and welding truck - Moorabool St between Myers and McKillop Streets. The welding with the power supply from the overhead would most likely be repairing a broken joint. One of a set of photos was taken between 15/2/1956 and 3/3/1956 when services operated only between Belmont and North before the final closure of the Belmont route on 25/31956 and that bogie tram 31 is not shown on the board, having gone to Ballarat on 15/2/1956 - see item 5554. Pamphlet advertising the sale of land at the "Camberwell Panorama Estate" - Doncaster and Bulleen Road 13-10-1923. Gives terms of sale, photos showing the views and a nearby shopping centre. Has a large photo of MMTB No. 20 on the front cover. The tramcar is of the Hawthorn Tramways Trust four-door bogie type. MMTB No 20 was an ex-Prahran and Malvern single trucker or small tram A class. Gives details of the 110 lots to be sold, terms, location, and that the tram was proposed to be extended to the corner. This extension took place in 1937. The locality plan shows proposed plans for tram lines in Belmore Road and Burke Road north of Whitehorse Road.
