The festival parade was held at 11.00 am on Saturday, 10 November 1990, commencing in Youth Road (behind Elfham Railway Station} and Diamond Street. As per tradition, the Shire of Eltham Historical Society entered a float in the parade but for the first time combined with the Diamond Valley Arts Society to produce the float. The theme of the parade was ''Spring into Summer". In accordance with this theme the Society's float depicted artists on a spring painting excursion. Part of the group was "Walter Withers" painting a landscape. There was also another artist painting a portrait of a girl in a spring costume. Joh Ebeli was responsible for preparation of the float. Former Eltham Courthouse, 730 Main Road immediately prior to major restoration works undertaken by Nillumbik Shire Council. The Courthouse is the oldest public building in the shire. Eltham Gateway, The old Bootmaker's Cottage adjacent to Whitecloud Cottage, 701 Main Road, Eltham The bootmaker's shop was operated by John Henry (Harry) Clark from about 1930. Clark was originally a photographer along with his brothers William (Will) Charles Clark and Clement Kent Clark. They operated as Clark Bros Photographers based at 25 Thomas Street, Windsor (Prahran) from about 1895 to 1915 at which point the premises was demolished.. Brother Clement died in 1912. By 1916 Harry was living and working as a photographer in Eltham and was recorded on the electoral rolls as a photographer up to and incliiding at least 1928. By 1931 he had changed proession to Bootmake and again continued on Main Road, Eltham South as a Bootmake at least until 1954. He died at St Vincent'e Hospital in Dec 1956. It is believed non of the brothers married. Eltham Gateway, Site of the former Eltham Shire Council offices at 895 Main Road, Eltham Demolished by State Government appoointed Commisoners in August 1996, the site was the original location of Shillinglaw Cottage which was acquired by Eltham Shire in 1963. The Council offices were builty in 1964. The Council offices were builty in 1964. GC advised that when they first arrived in Eltham in the late 1960s, he would enjoy driving out to Yarra Glen. The Eltham-Yarra Glen road was unmade at the time. He passed this residence on the north side of the road. It was totally remote. GC found the juxtaposition of this little cottage with its surburban wire gate out in the remoteness of the landscape intriguing.
