Made for Danebo Guest House at Martin's Creek. Peter Jensen came to Martin's Creek (35 miles north of Orbost) in 1890 having been told that Martin's Creek would be on the railway line. He was a cooper who made the casks from silver wattles. He cleared the area for farming and then built an accommodation house, Danebo., which was well used by travellers to Bonang and Bendoc. Gippsland was a relatively less developed part of Victoria in the nineteenth century. Danebo Hotel, Martin’s Creek, would have been an important stopping point for travellers to Bonang and Bendoc. Originally made from stone, they evolved to have wooden handles with a steel blade, and the type varied depending on its purpose. For generations, Bushells Coffee has been a part of everyday Australian life. It is an iconic household brand name that generations of families have grown up enjoying. These tea and coffee tins or caddies were commonly purchased from suppliers selling the well-known products of Bushels or Robur. The Rooks family emigrated from England in 1857. Abraham Rooks came to Forest Hill in 1862 and leased 79 acres. After 10 years of successful farming he owned the land. Abraham Rooks held the first church meetings in his home and in 1865 was one of the trustees to receive a crown grant to erect a chapel. In 1970 a school was attached to the chapel. The City of Brighton Mayoral robe features embroidered Coat of Arms on the sleeves, which were granted in 1970 by the British College of Heraldry. It includes two figures, the market gardener heralding back to Brighton’s early history in farming, and an aboriginal man, symbolising the original inhabitants of the area, the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation. This robe was worn by the City of Brighton Mayor until Brighton’s amalgamation into City of Bayside in 1993.Full length mayoral robe with centre opening. Tower Hill at Koroit in Victoria was stripped of vegetation by generations of farming practices until replanting and regeneration programs were undertaken from the late 1960s onward. This historic image taken by keen amateur photographer and editor of the journal "Light", Monsignor J. Mc Inerney, shows the caldera before the replanting took place. Monsignor McInerney's photographic archive contains many images used in illustrating the journal.

Albert the youngest son of Willam and Mary Ann, farmed at Epping and settled at the ‘Kirkton’ Melton c1925 farming until he retired to a house in Unitt Street Melton. Thomas Langdon (1832-1914) was born in Somerset, England and came to Australia in 1853. He started in Bendigo as a miner and carter before beginning farming at Laanacoorie. He married twice; Esther Temlett in 1855 and Sarah Coventry in 1862. He was elected to the Marong Shire Council in 1871 and went on to become a member of the Victorian parliament. This is a photograph of John Draffin and his family. John Draffin was for a time the Orbost Shire Secretary. John Draffin came to Australia as a child with his parents from the north of Ireland . He came to Orbost in 1894 and was Shire Secretary from then until 1910 He had four children: Andrina, Eva, George, Maggie, Sally and Nellie. "Mr Draffin was 67 years of age when he died. He had for many years been engaged in farming pursuits, and at one time held the position of champion plough- man of Victoria. Alexander Mathieson & Sons Ltd ('& Sons', after c. 1890), of the Saracen Tool Works, Glasgow, advertised as 'manufacturers of planes, mechanical, engineering and edge-tools'. They received 'prize medals' at the London, Melbourne and Edinburgh International Exhibitions of 1851, 1862, 1880 and 1886, in their 'quest for perfection in tools'. Mathieson's vast output included specialised craft implements for coopers, ship's carpenters, tinsmiths and wheelwrights. The firm originated when master plane-maker John Manners opened premises in Saracen Lane, Glasgow, in 1792. 4 Alexander Mathieson (c. 1797–1852) took over his business in 1821, which he gave as the foundation date of his firm. He was later succeeded by his son, Thomas A. Mathieson (1822–1899), a prominent Glasgow magistrate and preceptor of Hutcheson's Hospital charitable institution. In 1854, Mathiesons moved to East Campbell Street, and had opened branches in Edinburgh, Dundee and Liverpool by 1876. The third generation comprised Thomas O. and James H. Mathieson (born 1867), the latter being a Glasgow bailie (councillor), whose estate totalled an enormous £150,939 in 1926.
