Piece of concrete, City of Ringwood, Concrete from the facade of the old Ringwood Town Hall demolished in 1971, 1927
The two storey facade of the Ringwood Town Hall was built in 1927 at a cost of 6,000 pounds. Behind it the council worked out of the old mechanics institute. As the need for space grew, the first Ringwood fire station, the baby health centre and council's health department squeezed onto the site. A free library and cinema also operated from the town hall for many years.Two lumps of concrete from the facade of the old Ringwood Town Hall. Teapot, Antimony-based Britannia metal teapot - only display item recovered from replica Antimony Miner's Hut destroyed by fire at Ringwood Lake Park circa 2006, <1860
This teapot was donated to the Historical Society and placed in the Miner's Cottage display where it remained for several years. It was removed for cleaning and put in an archives display cabinet. The miner's cottage burnt down and thus the teapot is the only remaining object from the site.Teapot made of Britannia metal. Oval with recumbent dog on top. Insulated handle. Brilliant cut design on sides. Pouring spout and '7' shaped handle.On base: 8 Warranted best Britannia metal. Sheffield. 1204 -

This fire station was closed and a new one opened on Maroondah Highway on the site of the old miner's cottage near the corner of the Highway and Mt Dandenong Road.Five coloured photographs of the Ringwood fire station at 255 Maroondah Highway and of the fireman's house when it was sold. It later became 'The Fire Station Restaurant.' -

"Extracts from Recent Daily Newspaper - Ringwood Train Service - STATION WANTED AT RINGWOOD EAST. A deputation from the Ringwood East Railway League and Progress Association waited on the chairman of the Railway Commissioners yesterday afternoon and asked that a railway station be erected at Dublin-road, a mile and a quarter from Ringwood. The deputation urged that there were 81 passengers who, if the station were provided, would make daily use of it, and that as the Commissioners had purchased a site for a station at Dublin-road it was evident they had at one time considered it the most suitable site. The Chairman of Commissioners stated that the estimated cost of the station was £3700. Land owners in the locality should pay a proportion of the cost. Book, The White House At Warrandyte, 1988
The first known residents were Mr and Mrs Walter Pretty and their family who moved there in 1856. Mr William Collins took out a miner's right in 1886 and Mr and Mrs Frank Lowe bought the freehold when the site was auctioned in 1930.History of families associated with the property originally leased on a miner's right near the corner of Yarra Street and Cemetery Road circa 1850s, and later had a frontage to the Main Road with access from to Taroona Avenue. -
