In the 1950s speedboat racing was popular at Paynesville. The Gippsland Lakes Yacht Club has loaned the trophies of the time to PMM to display. This trophy is the High Speed Powerboat Perpetual Trophy and is in the shape of a speedboat of the time.

This magazine cost $2.50 and was produced to support the East Gippsland Red Cross Flood Appeal. Following heavy rain in East Gippsland in June, 1998, major flooding occurred in the Mitchell, Nicholson, Tambo, Snowy, Brodribb and Bemm Rivers. Other streams in the region also experienced high flows during this time.
