Functional object - Camera, c1940
Superfex Camera - made of plastic with a Fexar Spec Optic made by Fritz Kaftanski. Originally made in Prague in Czechosovakia from 1938 - 1942. This camera was made in Lyon, France in 1942 after Company moved from Prague. This is shown on the lower right front of the camera. The back is removable using the two clips on each side. Provisions made for two spools - one blank, the other for the 127 film role. Shutter button on top front of camera. M & B lever for exposure settings is on the side. Minolta Pocket Autopak Camera with a Pocket Flash 110 attached and cover.Three pieces in total. It was made 1978 with a 26mm (f3.5) zone focusing (1.6 feet to infinity) lens. Electronic shutter with speeds of 2 seconds - 1/1000. CDS meter provides programmed exposure control. Hot shoe. Tripod and cable release sockets. Built-in close-up lens and detachable flash. Viewfinder shows a red warning LED if a flash is needed. With the f:3.5 lens, a flash with a guide number of only 40 (in feet, at ISO 100) will be good to over 20 feet with ISO 400 film. The camera senses when a flash unit is mounted, and automatically sets smaller apertures for focus distances of 12' or less, to prevent . overexposure, assuming a fixed-output flash with a guide number of 40. Built-in sliding lens cover locks shutter. This is the most compact of the high-quality Minolta 110 pocket cameras (handy, very small pocket size, overall 1 x 2 1/8 x 4 5/8'), it is truly a dress-shirt-pocket camera, not just a coat-pocket camera. 100 or 400 speed film. Haminex C Flashgun (code 14-009) in its original box. The flash Gun uses Flash Cubes (no sample) and can be fitted to camera via together with a short cord and plug to connect to the camera shutter. It has a exposure table for distance and film speed, and a lever to turn the cube around to one of its four surfaces. Kodak Retina 1a 35mm bellows camera with extending bellows, in a leather case (.02) and an Instruction book (in German .03). The camera has a chrome trim with leatherette over the rest of the steel forming the body of the camera. It has a Retina Xenar F 2.8/50mm, Schneider - Kreuznach 2668277 lens covering speeds from B (bulb) to 1/500th of a second and an aperture opening of f2.8 to f16. Provision for a hot flash and various film speeds. Film advance lever with indicator showing number of photos taken. An old cartridge (.04) is loaded in the camera. Functional object - Slide/Film Strip Projector, c1960
The donor received the projector from a relative. He used it in the City of Whitehorse and surrounding areasWaterworth Slide Film Strip Projector, Model A - 300 watt, without a fan but with ventilating slots on top and an open bottom for air to flow. It has a carrying handle and a power lead with 3 pin plug which is wired in permanently. The projector lamp is at rear under the carrying handle. Image is projected through three stage lens via via the image on the 35mm strip or slide. The front lens is adjustable for focus. A knurled nut enables a height adjustment at front. Slides are inserted through the holder - whilst one slide is shown the other can be loaded ready to be slid in front of the light. The film strip holder is missing. The unit is finished in a grey hammer finish paint used in 1960 t0 1980s. The operating instructions are filed in the supplementary envelope. Used at home until 20000 to show slides of the familyAn Aldis 2000 35mm cartridge Slide Projector with an orange slide on top to slide in each slide to be viewed from a 40 slide cartridge on the side of the projector. Focus adjusted by turning lens at front of the unit (Projar f=85mm - 1300 - Gottingen). Height adjuster at front and power switch at back. A cotton twine covered covered power cable with three pin plug - overall length - 250cm. Three plastic slide cartridges and a plastic box for two of the cartridges is included. On the end of the bellows is screwed a further adjustable lens (8.5cm diam by 11cm long). The body of the unit can be tilted to focus on the screen. This lens is endorsed '8 inch (26cm) high focus Aldus UNO Projector Lens'.This lens and a lamp is stored inside the projector. The projection lamp is an Osram (balloon shaped) patent registered 260 volt Gas Filled 500 watt 51. Made in England.
