Albury served in the AIF (1885) enlisting on, 26/02/1916 in Ballarat, VIC before being discharged from duties with the 39 BATTN as a Army Non-Commissioned Private (PTE) on 11/03/1919. His next of kin is Albury NEAL. Gladys Neal was awarded the Australia Service Medal 1939-1946 and War Medal 1939-1945. The souvenir packs of cards open up with various photographs inside. Five are published by Nucolorvue Productions, Mentone, Victoria. One set by Murray Views, Gympie, Queensland. Two sets by The Valentine Publishing Co. Pty.Ltd Melbourne. One set of Colour Photographs by Capt.Frank Hurley. The single postcard is by Valentine's "Mail Novelty" Post Card Copyright. One is addressed to 'Mrs. H. Ellis c/- Mr. E. M. Straw, Harcourt, Vic.'Nine packages of photo souvenir postcards from various Australian cities and towns and one single postcard of a Scottie dog peering out of a doorway. It has a lift up flap with mini folded photographs of Lakes Entrance underneath. Other phoyogtaph selected views and fold out photograph packets of: Sydney, Warrnambool, Mildura, Albury, Shepparton Murray Valley, Orbost Adelaide Hills. The Warrnambool aquarium was opened in 1971 and was mostly underground with three domes above ground level. It is situated near the Warrnambool breakwater and the main structure is still extant. It closed as an aquarium in 1990 and was then used by Deakin University as a research centre for a few years. The aquarium contained exhibits of marine life and shells. This slide is retained as a reminder of the Warrnambool aquarium, an important tourist attraction for over twenty years.This slide in a cardboard frame is a multi- coloured one of the Warranmbool aquarium showing the three domes and the coastline in the background. This book mark was issued by Cramond & Dickson's store Warrnambool to honour Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897. The Cramond & Dickson's store was established by John Cramond and James Dickson in 1855 and closed in 1974. The first store was in Timor Street and later moved to the corner of Liebig Street and Timor Street in 1865 . They opened a branch store in Poultry Lane in London in the 1880s. Queen Victoria ruled from 1837 to 1901. This card has social significance showing the deep ties that Warrnambool people in the 19th century felt they had with Queen Victoria and the British Empire.A sheet of cream coloured paper in the shape of a book mark with scrolled edges, gold coloured writing and a coloured image of Queen Victoria on one side and the words of God Save the Queen and some musical notation on the other side . Embroidered post card made in France which reads to... W West from Worthy. Embroidered silk postcards became a booming industry during the First World War that was largely driven by women. Many French women embroidered strips of silk in their homes before sending them to a factory to be mounted on card by a largely female production line. Postcard from WWI soldier William West (1268) of the 29 Infantry Battalion, 5th Pioneers Battalion while posted in France to his family at home.Embroidered silk postcards were first made in 1900 for the Paris Exposition.
