Newspaper clipping from The Courier, 20/3/1963, titled "Bluebirds cause keen excitement in the city", recording the passing of the convoy of Donald Campbell's Bluebird car and speedboat through Ballarat and stopping outside the Town Hall. Photo has tramcar 14 and a bogie tram in the background. Donald Campbell himself was unable to attend. Bluebird was one the motor vehicle used in the land world speed record attempts of the era. The source of the ticket, NSW tramways is significant in that it was obtained by them as a sample.One penny or 1d paper ticket, ESCo, Ballarat Tramways, printed on fawn paper, No. D3339. Ticket has up and down directions, conditions of use, not issued on public holidays, special cars or railway picnic days. Peter Henry’s father was involved in the CFA and travelled to Ballarat for the Hose and Reel competitions that were regularly held. He was with the Warburton CFA at the time.
