'Into The Woods' was a production performed by the University of Ballarat Arts Academy in 2006. Music and Lyrics by Stephen Stodheim; Book by James Lapine; Musical Director - Andrew Paterson; Director - Terence O'Connell; Choreographer - Alana Scanlan; Set Design - Richard Jeziorny; Lighting Design - Nick Merryleese. It was performed at the Helen McPherson Smith Theatre, Camp Street, Ballarat from Wednesday 28th March to Friday 1st April at 8pm; a matinee on Saturday 1st at 2pm and Sunday 2nd at 5pm. Tickets were available from MajesTix: Adults $22, Concession $15.50, Student/Child $12.50. The production was by Arrangement with Hal Leonard Australia Pty. Ltd. The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. The Kew Historical Society's Pictures Collection is comprised of photographs, postcards and original works of art. The postcards include original (mainly) images dating from the 1900s to the present. From its beginnings in 1958, the Society has mounted exhibitions and/or displays, in early days in shop window and in community spaces located in the Kew City Hall (later Kew Library), and since 2010 at the Kew Court House. Exhibitions typically coincided with the annual Kew Community Festival in March, but after 2013 evolved into three new exhibitions yearly at the Kew Court House. Smaller displays continue to be mounted in the Kew Library. Display of seven costumes from the Weir collection dating from the 1910s, 1920s and 1930s used as a display at the 11 April 2018 monthly meeting at which the speakers were Jillian Rigby, Robert Baker and Suzanne McWha. Peter Ruston came to Australia in 1850. He worked as a carter, carting flour from the mill on the Plenty River near Janefield to the Greensborough area. He was one of the first bakers in the area. He married Martha Roberts in 1858.
