Percival Sylvester LANYON NR V 14661 enlisted 21 May 1941 Aged 45, Discharged 5 June 1944 Rank PTE. UNit 3 Garrison Bde. Heavy copper medallion and chain. At the top of the chain is a solid rod, 5 rings in the chain. Medallion is gold colour, top has the Rising Sun Badge covered with a saluting soldier. Two rifles go from his waist to the ground. A blue enamel across the medallion. Centre has a small shield with a concave recess in its centre. A wreath up from the bottom on both sides, bottom has a boomerang.Front. “DUTY. BRAVELY. DONE. P.S. The disc and badge are connected with a gold coloured chain with a safety pin attached. The back of the disc has a pin and hook attached to allow the wearer to fasten it to a garment. Part of the Reverend Chaplain Major Thomas Bruce Williams, No556101, Collection.Khaki short sleeved polyester shirt with two button down breast pockets. A pair of boards are attached to the epaulettes, each with a major's insignia, a letter R and chaplains' department badge. On each collar is a gold coloured metal gross. A purple lanyard is threaded under the right epaulette, around the right sleeve and secures to the right breast pocket.
