This photo is of a group of Melbourne Legacy, Legatees proudly marching towards the Shrine of Remembrance on Anzac Day in 1998. That was the 75th Anniversary of the founding of Melbourne Legacy. They could have been marching behind a Legacy banner but it is not shown in these photos.A record of a Anzac Day march to commemorate the 75th Anniversary. The legatees chose to march together under the Legacy banner rather than with their comrades from their respective battalions. The 8th/13th Victorian Mounted Rifles was raised as a regiment of the Royal Australian Armoured Corps on 1 May 1948 with Headquarters in Melbourne and squadrons in Sale, Benalla/Wangaratta and Albury. In 1955 Regimental Headquarters moved to Wangaratta and a second squadron was located at Albury. The Sale squadron transferred to 4th/19th Prince of Wales’s Light Horse.
