William Grant was an early European colonist in the Bacchus Marsh township. Before arriving in Bacchus Marsh he conducted a bakery business in Melbourne in the 1840s. He arrived in Bacchus Marsh around 1850 and became successful in business and was prominent in many community and local government organisations. He died in 1884. Black and white photograph of the rear of the former Supreme Court. Built in 1868 as part of the Ballarat Gaol complex, it became part of the Ballarat School of Mines in 1947 and used for Electrical Engineering. It has now been transformed into a performing arts centre. New building shown is Amenities Building and was officially opened in 1981. Radiating beams used for the top window are made from Oregon wood. Thought to be the last building using this wood for this purpose. Drive up to the building comes off Grant Street. They were numbered in the order they appeareed in the album. Most of the photos were of the creek area in Bulla; a few contained figures.
