This belonged to CPL "Gary Alan RAY" N/R 3/73261, A/COY, Vic. Scottish Regiment. c.1950.1. Standing issue, khaki, woollen battle dress jacket. On the arms are badges - Victorian Scottish Regiment in red and white, 3 Div HQ Badge, red and gold and Corporal stripes. 2. Samuel Davies No 64187. Sam signed Attestation papers on 27.4.1918 age 19 years. The page is stamped at the top “passed Light Horse riding test, volunteered to serve in Eygpt”. Listed as joined on 10.6.1918 in 5th General Service Reinforcements, embarked for Eygpt 14.9.1918, disembarked 14.10.1918, allotted to A.A.S.C 30.10.1918, appointed Driver 1.12.1918, embark for Aust 29.8.1919, discharged from the AIF. A.A.S.C. “Australian Army Service Corp” Sam had 3 older brothers already serving overseas, all came home. On 15.10.1940 Sam signed Mobilization Attestation papers in the CMF No V6868 in 6th Auxillary Horse Transport Coy AASC. His service in the CMF finished on 19.8.1942 then transferred to the 2nd AIF 20.8.1942 No VX101248 until discharge on 12.11.1945Coloured certificate with Australian & Union Jack flags at the top with 2 servicemen in front. The Long Gully Fire Brigade was ready for action in October 1873. The operated from a depot near the Wesleyan school room and members had been supplied with uniforms. On the 3rd of October the brigade, led by Captain Phillpot, marched into the city to take possession of a fire engine supplied by Council.Copy of a newspaper article titled A gift for fire station. The photo shows Joyce Green with the photographic portrait of her father's Brigade. There is a picture of Capt. J. Waterson with a plaque under it with Presented to Capt J. Waterson by the officers and members of the Long Gully Fire Briagde. Next part unreadable. Date at the end Nov. 1915 or 18. Other brigade members surround Capt Waterson and the plaque. Two small iron alloy container with underneath recessed and perforated to enable matches to be struck on it. Hinged lid/cover. Worn but can see some blue colouring on one and green on the other. Inside of one container the top of a Japanese hand seal.WAX VESTA on top. Other marking worn away.

Embarked for Egypt 22.12.1914, embarked for Gallipoli 30.4.1915, transferred to 3rd FAB 6.9.1915. Hospitalised with Jaundice serious enough to be transferred to Malta then England, returned to unit 10.3.1916. Transferred to 12th FAB 26.3.1916 then to 4th Div AHQ 31.3.1916. Embarked for France 2.6.1916, discharged from the AIF 10.5.1919 medically unfit.Timber frame, mid brown with glass front, dark green mount. This map originally came via Mitiamo East Loddon RSL who when they closed their Sub branch the map and their records were handed to the Bendigo RSL for safe keeping.
