Ex-president's Certificate from the Australian Natives' Association with details of recipient's details in central circle - an Australian emblem on the top - female figure on one side of circle holding flag in one hand and male figure on other side / symbolising bushman? Smaller circle underneath encloses star with map of Australia in centre and six state emblems in points. Scenes either side depict native Australian first fleet and Canberra Parliament House. Washing Machine, Estimated 1800's
Hand operated washing machine. Works on same principal as our model on display. Made of a metal drum with supporting metal legs. It includes a metal handle with an agitator. A piece of wood is bolted to the side of the washing machine for mounting a hand wringer. Such a machine was ideal for homes that did not have electricity. -

Clothes Iron, Coleman Lamp Stove Co Ltd, Spirit-fuelled Clothes Iron, Estimated circa 1936
Coleman Lamp Stove Co Ltd possibly making irons by arrangement with Coleman Lamp & Stove Co Ltd in Canada. Origin of these companies - started by William Coleman of Oklahoma and Kansas, USA. Iron has chrome plated sole - blue enamel body with white speckles and hemispherical tank (probably copper - has typical green verdigris appearance) for the lighting fluid that would have supplied the heat. Charcoal Clothes Iron, Estimated circa 1900
Heavy metal iron with heat shield beneath wooden handle. Letter "S" on damper door. Has tubular air chamber built into bottom section which connects to damper door allowing air to circulate creating the draft needed to keep fuel burning. Heat shield decorated. Wooden knob on the metal lever which opens the hinged top section. This section incorporates a 46mm diameter opening on the funnel at the pointed end of the iron.clothes iron -

Golliwog dolls were enormously popular in the first half of the 20th Century but became socially incorrect during the civil rights era of the 1960's. A lot of people had them in their childhood and remember them with affection.
