Book, Melbourne the Olympic City, subtitled 10 Facsimile Drawings With Colour - Harry Hudson
Yellow soft covered book containing Melbourne street scene sketches, photographs, and recollections contributed in 2021 by former pupils of Ringwood High School as a tribute to their well remembered art teacher, Harry Hudson (1910-1974). The images are reproduced from a folio of drawings that Harry made as a souvenir of Melbourne at the time of the 1956 Olympic Games. A circular produced by the Marysville Tourist & Progress Association requesting assistance from members in raising funds to promote tourism in the district. The circular was sent to the following members: Marylands Guest House, Kerami Guest House, The Cumberland, Marylyn Guest House, Mt. Kitchener House, Kooringa Guest House, Barton Bros, Marysville Theatre, Marysville Garage, F. Schulthess and, K. McKenzie Taxi Service. A Sub-committee was then formed with the following members: Mr. F. Fiske, Mr. J. Haycraft, Mr. G. Cuzens, Mr. J. Darmody, and, Mr. M. Hull to administer the funds. A circular produced by the Marysville Tourist & Progress Association requesting assistance from members in raising funds to promote tourism in the district. The Association was formed in November 1907 to promote tourism within the area. Roger de Stoop was born in 1912 in Flanders, Belguim. He migrated to Australia and set up a mattress ticking factory in Blackburn North in 1950.The company produced damask ticking. de Stoop sponsored Belgian migrants to work in his factory and built housing for them close to the factory.
